Life Lessons tells the story of a young girl yearning to know if her mother truly loves her. As she grows older, life teaches her the most important lesson: you must first learn to love yourself. This journey takes her through both joyful and painful experiences and leaves her with even more unanswered questions.

Her grandmother becomes her protector, but the girl is forced to choose between staying home under strict rules or venturing out on her own to discover what life truly means.

Antionette Courts was raised on the west side of Chicago by the two most important women in her life. She attended Catholic school, where she was taught that any wrongdoing was a sin that required confession. Yet, the deeper questions she had about life were never answered. As she grew into a woman, these unanswered questions made her reflect on the meaning of her very existence.

Through life, she discovered that every action comes with consequences. Her search for love led her to give birth to a beautiful baby girl, and for a time, she thought that was the answer she had been looking for.

Although she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education didn’t spare her from life’s hardest lessons or shape her into the person she was expected to become. Instead, she relied on the inner strength instilled in her by her grandmother. That strength became her guide, helping her understand that the trials of life are lessons no one else can answer for you.
